Fund Raising for the CAB
One of the unfortunate secrets of the Citizens Advice Bureau service is that it is a charity and locally we are dependent entirely upon grants and voluntary donations in order to ensure our survival. We do not receive money from Central Government nor do we get running costs from our National Organisation. We are dependant upon our local communities for support.
That support can come in a variety of ways; a one off donation from an individual, making us a part of your pay roll giving scheme at work, the donation of equipment to the service or a sponsorship deal which benefits both the sponsor and ourselves.
We are constantly trying to get companies and indeed other charities involved in the work we do so there is a very real role for someone to raise our profile and keep us in the minds of those who make grants and donations.
We would like to develop a series of regular fund raising events for the CAB but these need to be driven and someone needs to do the work to get them started. That someone could be you in conjunction with the staff and management of the CAB. This could be your big chance to become a volunteer fund raiser!
If you feel you can help the Cheltenham, Cirencester & Tewkesbury CAB or wish to get your company or place of work involved in sponsorship or the donation of equipment then do get in touch with us.
