Volunteering, Work Experience, Training and at the CAB
Have you thought of putting something back - why not volunteer? If you are a people person and would like to help others then you might volunteer as an advice worker. You will get free training to Nationally Recognised Standards that you won’t get anywhere else, plus it is invaluable work experience which could lead to a job or a change of career.
All you have to be
is open-minded and a good listener with time to give to others.
If you have skills like
fundraising, marketing or press and publicity, these and many others
are all part of the CAB service and all are volunteering opportunities.
It could be that you are interested in office administration or social policy work, again we can offer training and experience in these two vitally important areas.
Alternatively, it may be that you want to make a donation or feel that your company or place of work could adopt the CAB as one of its charities or donate equipment or services. Whatever you can do to help the CAB directly improves the quality of life for local people!
The Citizens Advice Bureau relies on volunteers, and we are committed to equal opportunities for both our workers and clients, and welcome volunteers regardless of race, gender, sex or disability (within the limitations of our office accommodation).
We are keen to have
as mixed a volunteer adviser team as possible and would encourage you to
join us if you are from a minority ethnic group, gay or lesbian or have
disabilities. There are regular regional meetings for CAB workers who are
from any of these groups.
There are various areas help that the
CAB needs, click on the following for more information: -
